My Troop Held an OA Election – Now What?
Now that your Unit has held an election for the Order of the Arrow, you may be wondering what happens next. The Lodge will recognize all those who have been elected this year at our weekly Call Out Ceremony on Saturday mornings during Summer Camp at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation as part of the weekly closing ceremony. If your unit is not attending Treasure Valley this year, you may still participate in the weekly Call Out. Please let our Chief (email@example.com) and Inductions Chair (firstname.lastname@example.org) know at least 1 week in advance which Saturday your unit would like to be recognized.
If your unit is attending another camp this summer, they can make arrangements for the host OA Lodge to recognize your unit in their Call Out. Please let the Chief (email@example.com) and Lodge Adviser (firstname.lastname@example.org) know the date, camp, and host Council of the camp at least 2 weeks in advance so they can make arrangements to have your unit recognized while you are there. Upon receipt of this information the Lodge will also provide details on the upcoming Ordeal weekends where those called out can complete their induction into the Order of the Arrow.
If neither of these options work for your unit, other arrangements may be possible and will be considered on a case by case basis. Please only use this option as a last resort as Lodge resources are limited in the summer months.
Adults who have been nominated to the Order of the Arrow must be approved by the Lodge Adult Nomination Committee. Those nominated will be contacted by the Lodge Adviser via email with a request for additional information for review by the Committee.
If you unit has not held an election, please contact the Lodge Elections chair (email@example.com) immediately to make arrangements.
